Overview
In this guide, you will learn how to use variables in your Demoboost demos. Variables help you quickly personalize demos at scale by marking selected elements as placeholders, which can then be updated by modifying the demo URL, using a new sharing menu, or even through automations such as Salesforce formulas.

Using Variables in your demo templates
Step 1. Set inputs for your Variables:
- Click the Share button in the top-right corner to open a short form for inserting values into variables.
- For image variables, either upload an image from your disk or provide an image URL.
- Notice how the share link changes as you insert values; this link can be used to share the personalized demo.
Step 2. Manual sharing link modification:
- You can manually modify the link to affect the values visible in the demo. This feature is useful for personalization at scale.
Step 3. Automated Link Generation:
- You can also generate personalized links in bulk using formulas, such as in Google Sheets. This allows you to easily generate hundreds or thousands of personalized demo links. Simply construct a formula that modifies the link with different user values.
Presenting Live with Variables
Step 1. Live Tab in Share Menu:
- To present your demo live with variables, go to the Live tab in the new share menu
Step2: Data Input
- Fill in the email addresses of your audience and describe the purpose of the demo, then click Start Demo to begin a live session with the variable values inserted.
Step 3: Present Live
- During the session, in addition to tracking data, you'll see the variable values used for the presentation.
