1. What is Tours 2.0?
Tours 2.0 is an upgraded version of our Capture and Editor - with better stability, bug fixes, and user experience - at no extra cost.
2. Are Tours 2.0 demos fully functional for viewers since it is in beta?
- Yes, demos created in Tours 2.0 are ready to share.
- Tours 2.0 is in beta, because some Tours 1.0 functionalities like Video narration and Speaker notes will be available soon.
3. Will Tours 1.0 continue to be supported?
- Playback: Yes, we'll support Tours 1.0 until all customers move to Tours 2.0. Migration is optional.
- Bugs: Yes, for service-impacting issues.
- New features: Add-ons will still be developed for Tours 1.0. Support requests will be reviewed case-by-case, with advice on the best solution (e.g., Custom Demo Engines or migration to Tours 2.0).
4. Are Capture Extension 2.0 and Tours 1.0 compatible?
- No. Capture 2.0 works with Tours 2.0, and Capture 1.0 works with Tours 1.0.
- If you prefer to stay on Tours 1.0, continue using Capture 1.0. Our app will direct you to the correct version for editing.
5. Can I create a demo in Tours 2.0, then move it to 1.0 and install Add-ons?
No, demos made in Tours 2.0 can only be edited in that version.
6. Do I need to re-capture my old 1.0 demos?
Only if you want to try them in Tours 2.0 Beta. Tours 1.0 demos will keep running without interruptions. When Tours 2.0 is fully released, we'll provide tools and support to migrate your demos.
7. When Add-ons or Custom Solutions will be available in Tours 2.0?
They will be available later this year.
8. Are analytics and notifications available for Tours 2.0?
Analytics and notifications work in the same manner for both Tours 1.0 and Tours 2.0 at this time. So they’re already available for you.
9. When will Tours 2.0 be fully released? What features are coming next?
We split Tours 2.0 release into 2 phases:
- Beta: Multi-screen Capture, New Edit with text & image personalisation, guides, new Playback. Those are ready for you now - open for feedback and testing.
- GA: Speaker notes, video narration, demo themes, add-ons, custom solutions, multimedia. Planning for the full scope be released in Q1 2025. However, we will be adding features one by one between now and Q1 - starting with add-ons and custom solutions first.
